Salted Caramel Apple Oatmeal

I don’t know exactly when it happened but I oatmeal’d myself out a few years ago. And since then I couldn’t get myself to eat another spoonful of oatmeal. Until one day, the jar of salted caramel sitting in my fridge was telepathically telling me to pour me over some oatmeal. Alright, it was one of the remaining things left in our fridge before we moved. We had oatmeal on hand as well as a few apples. And voila, salted caramel apple pie oatmeal was created as a healthy breakfast option.

Saffron Persian Chicken Kebabs

As soon as we found this home, I immediately google mapped what food places were nearby. Remember, I was house hunting from Brooklyn so I had no idea what was around. One of the places near our home, is Garni Meats, a meat market that sells succulent marinated meats to grill. But before I got too comfortable depending on Garni Meats, I wanted to attempt to make Persian kebabs.

Coincidentally two friends had given me some saffron. One friend gave me a jar from Trader Joe’s (another place I immediately google mapped to see its proximity) and another friend brought some back from Iran.

After a successful first attempt at Persian kebabs, Garni Meats just may be my go-to for impromptu barbeques, which I hope will be often!

Hello again. My apologies for the long absence, it has been a long while since I have posted anything. Things were a bit hectic since buying a home, packing, and moving cross country. And now we have settled into our new home in Pasadena. Why did we move to Pasadena?…
